PROVIDE-A-RIDE (PAR) VOLUNTEER DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES Provide transportation services to medical appointments and other essential non-emergency services for eligible persons who are at least 60 years of age.  This service is provided for those who do not drive, are unable to utilize public transportation and do not have family or friends who are available to drive them.   REQUIREMENTS   ● Valid driver’s license ● Good driving record ● Provide current proof of insurance on personal vehicle ● Ability to maintain complete confidentiality ● Relate well to seniors--patient, empathetic, a good listener             ● Enjoy driving and spending time with seniors or people with      special needs  ●Not a risk to vulnerable seniors in an isolated setting ● Punctual and reliable ● Willing to escort door to door and to assist clients as needed within     the guidelines for the position ● Knowledge of driving area, able to safely navigate to specified locations ● Safe driving record ● Access to vehicle that is roadworthy, reliable and suitable for client needs ● No health conditions that may impair ability to drive safely (including vision,    hearing, perception, reflexes) ● Good judgment; able to gauge client and driving conditions ● Physically able to offer support to frail clients as needed ● Trustworthy    ● Pass background check         DRIVERS ARE PROVIDED         ●  Supplemental Insurance Coverage ● Training ● Mileage Reimbursement ● Emergency Kits ● Volunteer Recognition
