Text Box: The Northwest Delegation of the Silver Haired Legislature met on June 17, 2011, at the Joyce Raye Patterson Center in Saint Joseph, to prepare bills for the fall session. Silver Haired Senators attending were Dale Faulkner, Tarkio; Carolyn Dick, Savannah; and Jim Whorton, Trenton. Representatives attending were James T. Crenshaw, Lathrop; Randalin Ferguson, Princeton; Howard Trullinger, Eagleville; Dale Midland and Patricia Midland, Maryville; Phyllis Smith , Mound City; Shirley Leakey, Gallatin; Stanley Hall, St. Joseph; Beverly McKown, Breckenridge; and John Murphy, Maysville. Alternates in attendance were Troy Lesan, Gallatin and Bill Casey, Mercer. Text Box: SHL members welcomed Missouri Senators Brad Lager and Rob Schaaf and Representatives Pat Conway, Delus Johnson and Casey Guernsey, who addressed the assembly. They were joined by Brad Haggard, a representative of the Missouri Veterans Home, as well as Rebecca Flaherty, Executive Director of the Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging. Many areas of concerns were brought to the Silver Haired Delegates. After many hours of discussion, the delegation voted for two priority bills and five alternate bills from our area, to be submitted for the fall legislative Session in Jefferson City.
