What is an ARC? And where can I locate one?
ARCs (Aging Resource Centers)
Three senior centers are currently designated as Aging Resource Centers. In addition to the services found in senior centers, ARCs house an Aging Resource Consultant, who is available to provide one-on-one assistance through *Enhanced Information and Assistance. ARCs also provide a myriad of public education opportunities. They are designed to be that “One-Stop-Shop” for seniors and their families.
*Enhanced Information and Assistance is a service which assists seniors and/or their caregivers on a one-to-one basis to assess their needs (limited assessment); help identify the most appropriate services; educate, regarding various services and alternatives, including helping to determine if they are eligible; assist with application procedures; serve as an advocate to help ensure that they receive benefits and services to which they are entitled and/or wish to receive; assist with problem solving in regard to services with Medicare/Medicaid and other common problems that seniors face.
