Caregiving Tips, Information and Classes

What is a Caregiver?

Sometimes we donít even realize we are caregivers--we are simply doing what we believe we are supposed to do--taking care of our spouse or helping our parents with chores such as lawn mowing, preparing meals, doing laundry or taking care of finances.

We juggle our own households and help our parents, or our parents now live with us. Each caregiver situation is unique; however, there are many things caregivers have in common. Some of these commonalities are the lack of time to take care of everything, little time for the caregiverís needs, stress, not knowing where to find assistance and needing a break once in a while.

The Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging is a non-profit organization that offers support and services to people who are at least 60 years of age or caregivers providing care to a person who is at least 60.There is no charge, but contributions are accepted.

Call us to see if we can assist you with support and/or find services to make you the best caregiver you can be!You can send an email to let us know what caregivers need, whether it is educational programs, support groups or someone to help you navigate your role as caregiver.

We are ready to help when you need us!†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† September 28, 2016
